TERMINUS DATA RECOVERY is hiring: Remote Cave Mapping Analyst
Flexible hours. Work from home. Previous caving experience is not only unneeded, it is actively discouraged.
Description:
Terminus Data Recovery is a company that deals in subterranean cartography. Unfortunately, the spelunkers who recover footage for Terminus are occasionally permanently unable to return from a cave.
As a remote analyst, your job is to process recovered footage from a helmet mounted camera and produce a detailed map of the cave that the spelunker was in when they became trapped. It's a serious position; it's also an extremely quiet one. In fact, most analysts we hire describe this job as "a desk job, with the occasional crawl".
Responsibilities:
- Scour the footage and identify the terrain the caver traversed through, tile types include: Path, Loose, Water, Ledge and Wall. You can select tiles by standing on them or right clicking adjacent tiles
- Meet the tile quota and reach the end point marked by a red flag to close the file and start your next assignment.
- manage the cavers stamina, as they trudge through the deep caves the caver may start to tire, if they do they can rest and regain their stamina.
- Please note: caver footage is low quality and will degrade as you watch it. most of these cameras were never recovered and weren't able to fully send over the files leaving missing or corrupted files.
- High performers get better jobs. Reach a higher analyst level to unlock job filters and even new assignment types.
Analysts are paid per map.
Please note it's completely normal for analysts to feel guilty or even traumatized by the footage or the recovery. It's even more normal for these feelings to appear on night shifts. If you feel this way, report it to your supervisor, and please try to complete the rest of the shift.
Analysts who demonstrate skill in this role may receive more dangerous assignments. While these jobs are far more risky, they are also far more profitable. Terminus does not officially comment on the existence of these memos.
A free trial simulation is available for potential analysts who wish to experience the job for themselves.
TERMINUS DATA RECOVERY is an equal opportunity employer, and we encourage all applicants to put their wellbeing first. For any concerns regarding the position, please contact your Analyst Ambassador.
